Quart Library

An existing building in a small municipality is asked to accommodate a mixed public use: library, civic center, cafeteria and spaces for local community organizations. The proposal expands the volume while simultaneously dividing it into two, aiming for functional clarity and providing light and ventilation to the central area. This separation acts as a semi-public passageway, linking the residential urban area with the stream. In the library, a central atrium structures and connects its various parts. Carefully placed windows are opened, prioritizing the prominence of the interior space and the books.
