The new kiosk bar is located in the courtyard of the Frederic Marès Museum, a green oasis in the Gothic quarter, formerly the Palau Reial Major. The kiosk is a prefabricated and temporary element, designed from a plastic intention beyond funcionality. Its geometry and materiality contrasts with its surroundings, and at the same time it reflects the chromaticism of the historic stone walls. When the kiosk is closed it becomes an abstract sculptural element. When it opens, it does so as if it were one of the Gothic altarpieces on display at the Museum: showing its delicate interior in a surprising way.
